The Universe is structured as a network of matter interconnecting clusters of galaxies. Each of these intergalactic filaments contains atomic hydrogen and unknown, or dark matter. The nodes of the network, the points at which the intergalactic filaments converge, contain clusters of thousands of galaxies. The observable Universe would appear to contain hundreds of billions of galaxies.
In this video, the astrophysicist Vincent Minier presents the Universe and its galaxies. It will enable you to list and identify the various types of galaxies and their distribution throughout the Universe.
